| My priorities have always been education, environment, economy, common sense healthcare, including opioid addiction issues. I�m also a member of the local VFW auxiliary, and am passion about veteran�s issues. The state of Indiana is horrible in the ways it treats veterans, and they don�t even have their own committee at the state level. Indiana is equipped financially to take care of our veterans, yet offer no incentives for retirees to come back to the state. We should be more inclusive in providing perks for the men and women who signed blank checks to protect us. | |||
| My top legislative priority would have to be education. Indiana underfunds our public schools and educators, yet do nothing when charter schools abscond with $86M. To increase funding of public education, money must be diverted from religious and charter schools. What started as a �social program� for underprivileged children has turned into funds that go into religious institutions, (questionably unconstitutional) and charter schools operating with little or no oversight. Holding funds from public schools break down neighborhoods and communities, with children attending schools miles from where they live. |
